Firefox in the ascendency
The W3Schools has just released the most recent browser usage statistics and, for the first time, Firefox has overtaken IE6 - 35.4% versus 34.9%. This is a major achievement for the Firefox developers and will have an impact for all of us developing sites.
We have traditionally built sites that work in IE and then redeveloped to fit the other browsers. IE is still the most popular browser across all versions but it looks like things they are a-changing.

Although most organisations still have IE as their browser it looks like many users have moved on.
Follow the Flock
Another browser development recently grabbing my attention is the release of Flock a ‘Social Networking’ browser. If you are a fan of You Tube, Facebook, Flickr, Twitter or any of the other networking or content sharing sites then this browser is worth a look. The innovative integration of RSS feeds and tabbed access to all your networking sites makes this browser something really different from all the others. It does appear to be similar to Firefox under the bonnet but has a raft of tools for uploading content and adding entries to blogs and to aggregate content as you like. Take a look at www.flock.com
